Virginia Harr LCSW
You are likely here because you are stuck, struggling, or want something different in your life. I believe seeking help is a sign of health and courage. For over a decade I’ve worked with individuals to better understand themselves and their relationships so that they can lead more vital and fulfilling lives, unburdened by fear and shame. Everyone deserves a time and a place to understand their internal world, heal from painful experiences, and move towards finding more meaning in their lives and relationships.
PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Areas of Specialization
CLIENTS
I work with a broad range of adults from adolescents to seniors. Some of the issues I especially enjoy working with include
High Functioning Anxiety
While it may not show on the surface, your mind feels like it's in over-drive with a constant stream of "what ifs", rumination, and perfectionism. We can work together to address the roots of these fears as well as finding tools to help manage your anxiety.
Grief and Loss
Grief is natural part of the human experience, but can feel overwhelming and isolating. Together we can process the varied emotions and navigate how to integrate the loss in a meaningful way.
"Little" Traumas and Big
While PTSD is one well-known reaction to trauma, the effects can present in a myriad of ways across a lifespan. I am trained in EMDR, an evidence-based intervention, that can assist in processing overwhelming past experiences and diminishing present day triggers.
OCD
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can feel like a bully, making your life smaller and more constrained. I am trained in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) the evidenced based CBT intervention developed for the treatment of OCD.
